This script is an add-on to the Game Log script located here:
When hovering over the Game Log image this script will display the game log for the specified player in a tool tip.
Most of the credit for this goes to Glenn Carr and his excellent Fantasy Baseball Player Notes script:
@John Gillson: I'm surprised you had to uninstall the old one. I still had mine installed and when I installed the new version it created the directory and put the necessary scripts in there. I guess it may be a difference between FF2 and FF3. Glad to hear it's working.
Edit: I just tried to install it on another browser and the old version was still installed. Good to know!
I thought I had uninstalled the old one awhile ago once it stopped working with FF3 and it turns out I didn't. Everything works now thanks!
I've updated the script. I don't have Firefox 3 (yet) so I don't know for sure if it works. But. I used Glenn Carr's updated script as a template so it should work. If someone with FF3 could test it and post back the results. I would appreciate it.
In a post on June 11th. I mentioned that this script breaks the new Yahoo interface for football. It appears the changes I made no longer breaks football.
@suckerpuncher: I've tried to move players in football and baseball with the updated script (in FF2) and I have no issues. Hope it works for you too.
I've encountered a big problem while using this script on the new Yahoo! Fantasy Football 2008.
As soon as this script is activated I'm not able to Drag&Drop players anymore. It just maaks the text but I can't move them around.
The same goes for the Yahoo Fantasy Smack Tooltip by Glenn.
Any chance you can get this working with FF3? I saw that the script this was based off of was updated and now works so I'm itching for an update of this as well!
Yahoo has opened up Fantasy Football for the 2008 season. They have changed the interface some and certain scripts cause the new interface to behave incorrectly. For example if you hover over the "My Team" link a sub-menu will open up allowing you to directly go to a particular page instead of having to click on "My Team" then clicking on the link for the page you want. However with some scripts enabled for football the sub-menu disappears making it so you cannot click on an entry in the sub-menu. This script is one of those scripts. I will be working on it to see what I can do to fix the problem (and hopefully get it working in FF 3).
I have found the following scripts also break the new interface: Yahoo Fantasy Baseball Player Notes (The version that was made to work for football and basketball) Yahoo Fantasy Smack Tooltip
searchforsunrise: I have not tested on FF 3 yet. I'm waiting for it to go final before I try it. Sorry. It's possible that is the problem. Looks like I'll have to fix my script(s) when FF 3 comes out.
would there be any particularly obvious reason why i can't seem to get the tooltip to appear?
I do have the "Game Log Link" script installed and placed before this script in the script manager.
Also. I'm using FF 3 Beta 4 - the script works for me on my portable install of FF 2.0.0.13.. I'm assuming that's the problem but just wondering if maybe I'm missing something.
Haloducks glad you like it. I'll see what I can do but it probably will be more work than it was getting this to work for hockey.
hi Tim can you put this magic gamelog tooltip in the box score? lol. I just love this script and hope it can be used in the box score too.
Haloducks it's possible but I don't play fantasy hockey. Football basketball and baseball is enough. :)
However. I did a little bit of investigating and it turns out it was pretty easy to do. For this script just add "*hockey fantasysports yahoo com/*" to the "Included Pages" section of the "Manage User Scripts" screen in GreaseMonkey.
For the Game Log Link script. I've uploaded a new version that supports hockey. Install that version and make the change to this script that I mentioned above. That should make it work for hockey. If not let me know.
Glad to here it Jake. Enjoy! Be sure to check out the other script I reference the one written by Glenn Carr. That script shows the player notes when you hover over the note icon. That's where I got the idea for my script.
JakeS make sure you have the script located at and that script appears *before* this script in the Manage User Scripts screen.
The Game Log Link script must exist and must appear before the Game Log Tooltip script. [ADVERTHERE]Related article:
