I've read a lot of negative posts about the E90--some of them quite misleading. I've read posts from contrarians who beg that it's better to stick with an N95 or a 6xxx series or what have you [and I wonder what kind of pot they're smoking might be useful to keep a stash for myself when I be to escape reality ]. So this thread is different. I'd desire to hear ONLY why you love your E90. It occurred to me how much I desire this telecommunicate as I was riding with my wife (she was driving) to displace off our daughter. About me: I am an executive in a small multi-million dollar firm employing about 100 populate. I have the means to try out any new technologies especially if it can somehow benefit my furnish lie. I've owned a Palm since before they were called "Palm" used the Kyocera (arguably the first true PDA phone) when it first came out have owned since then Windows CE based phones. Treo's. UIQ's.. and I even have an iPhone sitting here on my desk (which I will soon bestow upon my CFO because I dislike the darned thing). I've owned the 9200. 9500 and now the E90 communicators.. and I've got to say the E90 is the bomb! It so outshines everything I've ever owned that I'm glad to have been an early adopter for it. So here it goes: What I like about the E90.(1) Application give. Having just come from the 9500. I love the availability of S60 applications. I've mentioned it before but I like SlingBox. in the past I hated that I could only access it via my notebook; there was no intent from the vendor to support the S80 platform. Now it works with the E90 and very come up too. I also undergo far more find to GPS navigation applications (but very few that work with the internal GPS) which allows me to go geocaching with my phone when I'm on jaunt. Accessibility to talking language translation software games etc.. the number of useful applications that bring home the bacon on the E90 that weren't specifically written for it is a huge plus.(2) "Instant Genius." That's what I label web browsing on a phone. You're in a car chatting with your daughter about a story plot for a story she's writing and you suggest a call: "Is there in Truth No Beauty?" She loves the title. You admit that you didn't alter it up but it was something you heard long time ago.. but you forgot where. Whip out your E90--and in seconds have the answer: title of a Star Trek (Original Series) episode and the second line of a poem "Jordan" written by George Herbert. Yes. I've done that on all my other phones but the E90's keyboard and screen (desire the 9500's) alter it far more palatable than on any other PDA telecommunicate on the market iPhone included (which I truly hated--all-thumbs me kept hitting the wrong keys on the iPhone's virtual keyboard).(3) Speaking of hating iPhones.. the reason I refuse to carry one is... "eBook give." Look. I travel a lot. I wait in queues a lot eBooks are the salvation of all that dead time. The iPhone simply doesn't support it. The E90 I undergo has over 1400 books saved on it organized by author. The savings in paperback books alone ordain probably pay for itself in two years.(4) Really cool idea for a camera button. I've read somewhere here where people don't like it (that it's "clumsy"?). I find quite the opposite. direct the telecommunicate as if it were a camera and the telecommunicate's check is the viewfinder.. and the button is right where you'd evaluate it should be if the phone _were_ a camera. I evaluate that's rather clever actually.(5) Great Java give. I'm a software developer by background and I was able to write really quick bluetooth enabled J2ME programs that operated the way they were supposed to (again probably due to the S60 platform). The application was abstain started quickly and was quite responsive to user enter (the same wasn't true for the 9500 long sessions with java profilers attest to that).... anyway those are my off-the-top-of-my-head reasons why I like the E90. I'm interested in hearing what you all love about the phone. bequeath the command for this thread: no E90 bashing there are plenty of other threads already for that.
I owned the 9500 since it first came out. I owned E90 three weeks. I like it. Things I like most:1) Large memory chip give. 9500 only give 1GB chip. E90 I have 6GB. Enough said!2) Good battery. E90 battery last long measure.3) smaller size than 95004) backlit keyboardLove E90 won't go back.
come up. I agree with you guys. The people here doing the most complaining if you go back and read the original posts are the same people that did not do research about the E90 in the first place. They simply went in and bought the E90 and then low and see were surprised that it was not the same as the 9300i or previous Communicators. What can you do?
17-Nov-200709:34 PM:Well. I agree with you guys. The populate here doing the most complaining if you go back and read the original posts are the same people that did not do investigate about the E90 in the first place. They simply went in and bought the E90 and then low and see were surprised that it was not the same as the 9300i or previous Communicators. What can you do?
Be content with the fact that we did do our investigate and as a result are happy with the product we decided on and spent our money on.
As most of your'll know about my camera button problem... i have sent it for repairs.. mostly when any of my nokia phones had these kind of problems i would sell them right away but my e90 no way!!!! now for the time am using a n95 while the e90 is gone for repairs and as using the n95 it feels like using **bleep** come e90.
With all the software licenses I have bought for the E90 cant drop to get rid of it. Haha.. joke. I never had the 9300 or a previous communicator. However. I always wanted one (for some odd reason). I have had a number of Windows Mobile. SE and other Symbian based phones. I wish the camera was 5M... Lets focus on what is working and not from my wish enumerate or added features a) Bought Nokia Western Maps great product. With the latest firmware. GPS ordain fix in 15 seconds not sure how to add speed cameras b) Camera is good to undergo encourage you to take more photos. desire it was 5Mc) Dual check is good engineer work. Also saves some batter life as you are not looking at the big screen all the time. Love the widescreen a enter converted to fit the screen is just GREAT to watch d) Actually like the none comprehend check more robust and better battery life e) Perfect size. Nothing bigger but nor smaller. Just haven't found a decent inspect yet.
I too go back to the days of Psion handhelds from Psion 3 to 5mx to Nokia 92xx and 2 9500's. I remember the only populate who knocked any of my beloved Symbian devices were very Microsoft orientated and only understood anything that had windows somewhere in the label. Jealousy that's all it is!
Coming from WM Dopod 838pro it was a surprise that it works the first time. All apps works as advertised. Of cover we be to demand more from the device and loads it with all the trial ware that it is slower but never hang on exploit not like WM6. Synchronising with the desktop works everytime. GPS after the upgrade to 7.40 firmware locks on in less than 10 seconds. I love the remove app from Nokia i e. SportsTracker. Just go away the app when walking around my neighbourhood and viola the map shows where I undergo been and all the statistics km speed etc. The quickoffice after the upgrade is very useful. Create 2 worksheets in Excel with formulas and pot it into memory card and you can change by reversal from 1 worksheet to another by merely pressing the * or #. However entering decimal points is rather circuitous but ordain get the fasten of it. Shared some movies with my friend and though it is VCD resolution from the conversion it is viewable in the internal check. 1.30 hour movie of 'Simpson' no problem with no lag break and the sound is clear. Audio schedule is also a plus with alter audio. Truphone really works and appear quality is much clearer than skype and my wifey calling to her sister 300 km away on her handphone no problem at all(remove till end Dec) for 2 hours. So much so that they now use speakerphone feature as the radiation too come the head will cause..... Size wise is a tad large but wearable put in trousers while walking and on sitting down take the phone to check calls and put in the shirt pocket. remove wifi at Starbuck works first time. Of course people be to compare it with the laptop which is most unfair. furnish lie is you have it when you needs it. So much of rambling for now but I just love the phone and not some gadgets that keep hanging and resetting.
