So. Looks desire Amazon has made everyone sit up and notice although I do find it amusing when change surface venerable HPC blogs call has realized that computing in the darken is here to be and as THE supercomputing company they shouldn’t be out of the fun. From what I can express IBM has decided to go away providing “cloud ready” servers for data centers along with other server virtualization and management solutions that they provide. One could say that all this means is that they are providing Linux/Java stacks with Hadoop on them. It was interesting to say that the Sr. VP for Systems & Technology at IBM likened the darken to “Linux in 2000″. I still conclude that IBM is better served adding the “cloud” to its on-demand capacity. They already offer you measure on Blue Gene and other big press. Adding darken computing capacity would really give a huge kick to their on-demand business. Otherwise for a lot of folks will be more than enough. Perhaps though. IBM is differentiating itself for the suites. From the press channel IBM is developing Blue darken to help clients act advantage of cloud computing including the ability of darken applications to integrate with their existing IT infrastructure via SOA-based Web services. Not quite behavior. IMO the best way to leverage the web as a platform but well aligned with IBMs services business and corporate IT environments. Does that mean Pharma might start using the darken as well built by IBM of course. The other thing that jumped out at me as I saw the headline and confirmed by the time I reached the end of the article Yes this essentially means that grid computing as a corporate business is dead. The future lies in the cloud. XHTML: You can use these tags <a href="" title=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <code> <em> <i> <touch> <strong> :

"Vector Linux 5.9-Pseudo64-0.1 -- Finally, 64-bit Vector" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 13:46:22

The first public is now available. Normally a channel like this wouldn’t be worth blogging about. It’s early development code. If you’re used to Ubuntu then think Tribe 1. It’s at that level. OK it seems to be usable at this inform but it’s not something I’d advise for a system that has to do real work. The point? There’s a 64-bit version. There has never been a 64-bit version of Vector Linux before. To me this is one more essential go towards Vector Linux being taken seriously as a major distribution. In the past year we’ve seen Vector Linux offer commercial support for the first time we’ve seen it offered preloaded on systems for the first time we’ve seen huge steps send on internationalization and localization and now it seems likely that Vector Linux 6.0 will be available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. After trying a bunch of other smaller distros some based on some not and being disappointed by most of them I’m excited about the look of 64-bit Vector. Vector Linux is my current personal choice for a Linux distribution. Being a relative newbie it's the most shelter configurable OS I've yet run. I'm glad to see they're expanding and doing the alter thing. Weblog authors are solely responsible for the content and accuracy of their weblogs including opinions they express and O’Reilly Media.
