"Problem Solved" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 15:00:44

I read the API docs very carefully and did the following. Created a Clip object and set the background hold to asufficiently large number. Set the bounds for this clip as the SphericalBounds object I wasusing. SphericalBounds is a derived class of Bounds. Added this Clip object to my TransformGroup. Which is a derived classof assort. "Web site hosting - CHAPTER 16 Object interaction picking and ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 19:57:15

CHAPTER 16 Object interaction picking and collision detection 16.1 Introduction to picking 16.2 PickShapes 16.3 PickTool 16.4 PickCanvas 16.5 PickIntersection 16.6 PickResult 16.7 VRML picking example 16.8 Using picking for collision detection 16.9 Conclusions Two example applications of Java 3D s support for picking are presented here. The first example in divide 16.7 loads a VRML scene and reports the name of the object from the VRML scene that was picked when a mouse move occurs. The back up example uses Java 3D s Bounds-based picking to apply simple collision detection. The example creates four Sphereobjects within a cube which ricochet off each other and the walls of the multiply. 16.1 Introduction to picking Picking is the act of identifying objects in the 3D scene usually with a pointing device such as the mouse. Java 3D s support for behaviors and picking can also be used to implement simple collision detection and response within a 3D scene. Picking is central to many of the direct-manipulation UI paradigms. Using direct manipulation for example you would translate an object by clicking it and moving the mouse as opposed to typing the object ID and its new position into an edit handle. For precision work the edit field ordain work beat; however it abstracts the user from the 3D scene as compared to direct manipulation. Java 3D 1.2 includes some new classes that make picking relatively easy. These classes are a big improvement over the 1.1 picking classes which undergo been widely deprecated. Before going into the details of the examples. I will describe the Java 3D 1.2 picking classes. The Java documentation for the picking classes is excellent probably the best in Java 3D so it is useful to familiarize yourself with it. 16.2 PickShapes java lang. disapprove | 266 We would like to recommend you tested and proved services which you ordain surely find to be of great quality.

i want to alter 3d maze by reading from text filefor example when i read 0 then i draw protect when i construe 1 i draw path. and so onand i be to move the object in the maze by using AI techniquesmy questions are:- can I construe from register and displace by using 3D Max and schedule the object moving using java if yes how can i cerebrate the java and 3D Maxif there are any resoures or any other solution that may help me please express me about it can I read from register and draw by using 3D Max and program the disapprove moving using java if yes how can i connect the java and 3D MaxThe say is Yes (sort of) and No. If you want to interact directly and in real time with Max you'll have to lay the MaxSDK (it's on your lay DVD) and write your label in C++. Otherwise you could create verbally a Maxscript add-on to read from a register which is generated by your Java app. There is a third way but no guarantees. create verbally a server in Java and an add-on in maxscript to connect to your server and construe a stream.. however good luck with that if there are any resoures or any other solution that may back up me gratify tell me about it Starfire Research published a 3DS loader for Java way approve in.. uhm... 2004 methinks. It loads 3DS files (as exported from Max). Your app ordain have to be pure Java - the only cerebrate to Max is that the model will have been built there. A few words of advice: Pivot Axes! Mapping Coords! measure! Non-geometry! (You'll understand later)It's getting old but it still does the job. If anyone knows of a newer/exceed loader gratify let the community experience. Yes I also use it."Starfire" loader. It is free but you can now make a donation tothe developer. (well I did it). The more he gets the exceed he will keep it. I suppose. It works quite come up (for me at least) . But it is not open source. We use it to do collision between the avatars and the world. The collision system uses world geometry for collision tests but is optimised to extract the triangles only when they are within a certain bounds of the avatar. The collision system is in a separate package but currently there are no standalone examples. Hopefully after JavaOne we will undergo some time to create verbally a simple example. I am the primary compose of the system Paul mentioned and I just cleaned it up a bit as come up. And yes I would say after JavaOne a simple example can show how to use it if you can act that desire. It's not super complete in the since that it supports lots of primitive types but it does do a good job of the standard two phase collision affect. Other than that some collision can be done with the J3D picking utils. Otherwise you gotta roll your own which is fairly typical of a rendering API since collision can be so application specific.
