Normally. I'd use the add/shift programs to do it but I can't. When I go to move on J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Updates there is no remove button to move on. Is there another way I can remove it?
The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility does not perform the following functions:• shift Windows Installer• Remove files of any programs that are installed by Windows Installer such as Microsoft Office 2003The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility does act the following functions:• Provides a dialog box in which you can decide one or more programs that were installed by Windows InstallerTo do this select the programs that you want in the Installed Products enumerate in the Windows Installer CleanUp dialog box. After you alter this selection the utility removes only the Windows Installer configuration information that is related to those programs.• Removes the files and registry settings that alter up the Windows Installer configuration information for programs that you select
Running that utility ordain not uninstall anything (right?) only shift the entries in Add/Remove Programs. I undergo no solution up my sleeve but we can start affect shooting by going to go away > Control adorn > Java > "java tab" > check which versions of Java are listed and which versions are "active". Compare that "list" to which versions appear in Add/Remove Programs. affix approve with the results. Christer
There was a similar go a few weeks ago: in which the resolution was to uninstall all versions in the reverse request from Add/shift Programs and when all cleared lay the latest version. The problem here seems to be "orphaned" entries in Add/Remove Programs and I be TinyTuba822 to confirm that they all are "orphaned" or which one(s) are. When you lay a new version of Java it is in most cases intended to change by reversal a security air. Most (?) people just install the new version on top of the previous version(s) and they stack up in Add/shift Programs. I wonder if the security issue is corrected if the previous version(s) is/are left installed? I recommend my own procedure to always uninstall the previous version (through Add/Remove Programs) prior to installing the new version. Christer
Definitely not - I have had notice from Secunia Software Inspector of vulnerabilities in earlier versions of Java - which were still installed on running their examine change surface though the latest version was installed. This was resolved by uninstalling the earlier versions. I recommend that everyone should sign up to for email notifications of when their vulnerability database has been revised so that a fresh scan can be made and updates applied if necessary.[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
